No Heroes is a fictional novel based on the aftermath of school shooting. Written by author Anna Seidl, the novel has been praised for Seidl was 16 when she wrote it. 

 

Little Island books have published it and I was delighted to create the sleve, my first book cover. 

 

After a lot of playing around I realised that if I was to get the desired effect I would have to build a woodcut model of the school front and back. 

 

The front shows a lonely figure wandering the empty corridors of the German school. The back reveals a more sinister, police tape and bullet holes in the windows.
