Sinead was made for the 'Is this Thing On 2" art show in Gallery 1988 in LA which opened March 29th 2013. The theme of this years show was 'Saturday Night Live' which was kept secret along with all the artwork from the show. Those who made the opening night were the first to know what the show was all about and see the artwork for the first time. No online previews, no sneak peeks from the artists, a real classic artshow. With no dress rehearsal what better SNL memory to re-imagine than Sinead O Connor's televised rebellion against the Catholic Church. A nostalgic shocker that still echo's loudly today. In 1992 I remember watching this, Irish mammies falling off their chairs, the silence it created and those eyes, those terrified deer In the headlight eyes.
